A Presentation at Saint Charles Seminary

Untitled for love alone

An unprecedented documentary highlighting the lives of religious sisters across the United States, For Love Alone emphasizes the risk and reward of letting everything go for God. The challenging questions of the modern world: ~Does life have meaning? Is God real?~ find a new and unexpected response in the sisters’ bold proclamation that God is enough to satisfy the de-sires of the human heart.
Mother Mary Clare Roufs, ACJ, and Sr. Clare Matthias, CFR, worked closely with
Grassroots Films in the conceptualization, filming, and production of this 18 minute film.
They will be present at this pre-screening to talk about the vision of the film and answer
questions. This event is open to all who work with youth and young adults.

Ask your legislator to cosponsor and vote in favor of House Bill 752!

“What would we have done without it?”

That is the question one mother asked herself when speaking about the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC). After seeing her son thrive in the academically excellent and nurturing environment of her local Catholic school, this mom recognized that she had found the right school for her son’s learning needs.

The small class size, caring environment and specialized attention from teachers have made a positive difference in her son’s success.  Yet she added, “None of this would have been possible without EITC funding.”

Both EITC and the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs are funded by companies that contribute to scholarship organizations in exchange for a tax credit. The longstanding EITC program has helped tens of thousands of students attend the school of their choice, including Catholic schools. The three-year-old OSTC program helps thousands more by giving special scholarships particularly for income eligible students who live in communities with the lowest performing public schools.

EITC tax credits are often depleted on the first day of their availability. OSTC credits are also exhausted. The need for more credits, to help more parents pick the best school for their children, is evident.

Please ask your legislator to cosponsor and vote in favor of House Bill 752, which would increase EITC and OSTC tax credits, so that even more parents can make a choice about the right school for their children.

SAINT FRANCES CABRINI

ANNUAL MAY PROCESSION

On Tuesday evening May 5th at 7:00 PM, the Saint Frances Cabrini Parish Community will be gathering for the annual May Procession in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

At this time, Saint Frances Cabrini Parish Community is especially inviting their students at Holy Family Regional Catholic School to join in this special evening. The Parish Community’s Eighth graders are asked to wear their graduation gown, the Confirmation students are asked to wear their Confirmation robe, and the First Communion students are asked to wear their First Communion outfits and the fifth and seventh grade altar servers are asked to wear their alb. All other students are asked to join in the procession wearing their Holy Family Regional Catholic School winter uniform.

The annual May Procession provides a wonderful opportunity for all our parishioners to give public witness of our love and devotion to the Blessed Mother.  Our Regional School students are all asked to join our Parish Religious Education Program students by gathering in the Father Laut School Building by 6:40 PM.

In the event of bad weather, we ask that you go directly to church, and follow the direction of the ushers.

Our May procession is a unique and fitting way to acknowledge and honor the special role of Our Blessed Mother in the life of Church and in the lives of our families, please plan on joining the Parish Community for the Annual May Procession.
