Magee about  the Gospel and 1st Reading from October 4th as well as his homily of the day as it relates to the World Meeting of Families and the Synod on the Families.  Holy Spirit Radio aired the interview on Tuesday, October 27th.

Monsignor McCormac was asked by Senator Charles McIlhinney to serve as Guest Chaplain of the Senate on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.  Monsignor McCormac had the honor of offering Opening Prayer for the afternoon session of the Senate at the Capitol in Harrisburg.

It is a busy time of year and we are finding that our parishioners have many conflicting commitments at this time.  Therefore, we are cancelling the Designer Bag Bingo, which was scheduled for Friday,  October 23rd, and will reschedule it for Saturday, January 23rd. In this way, everyone will have the opportunity to share in the fun and attend this event.  This is also a perfect opportunity to purchase a ticket for your loved ones for Christmas!  Thank you to all who had already purchased tickets or offered to volunteer.

Due to the lack of teams available for this Saturday’s Trivia Night, the event has been cancelled.  We are looking into the possibility of rescheduling another date for this Fall.  We will keep you posted.  Thank you to all who were interested and offered to volunteer.

Archbishop Chaput continues to work with bishops and laity from around the world in Rome at the Ordinary Synod of Bishops on the Family. On Saturday, he delivered remarks to the assembled body entitled, “Language and Its Implications.”

At the Synod of Bishops on the Family currently underway in Rome, bishops from around the world have come together in small groups to study and report on the working document, or Instrumentum Laboris, which presents the issues under discussion at the synod.

Follow this link for the report of English Circle D (one of the groups) on Section One of the document, dated Oct. 9. Archbishop Chaput is the group’s “relator,” or secretary; the moderator is Cardinal Thomas Collins of Toronto, Canada.

Archbishop Chaput has signed the Decree of the Relegation of Saint Joseph the Worker Church To Profane But Not Sordid Use. The Decree is effective November 1, 2015 was communicated to  the general public via an Archdiocesan Press Release on Sunday, October 11^th at noontime. You can view the full press release HERE.
