2014 CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL

A LETTER FROM ARCHBISHOP CHAPUT:

Dear Friends,

We’re called to create hope by the love we bring to others.

Our privilege as disciples is to give freely; to share our gifts unselfishly. The poor, the elderly, the sick, the disabled — they all count on us. God asks us to care for the less fortunate so that persons in need can steady themselves and pass the spirit of hope along to others.

Now more than ever, many persons face family and economic hardships. They need help. They look for hope. Jesus Christ remains the source of that hope for the elderly, the poor, the hungry, the disadvantaged. And as his disciples, we’re called to follow his example of love and service.

I ask you to show your great generosity once again, as you have so many times before, and support the Catholic Charities Appeal.

Right now, today, God invites you to answer your baptismal call and join with your fellow Catholics in the mission of the Church. I ask you to please make a gift to the 2014 Catholic Charities Appeal.

With your generous support we can Give Hope to those who need it most.

Gratefully yours in Jesus Christ,

Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.
Archbishop of Philadelphia
