BEFORE YOU VOTE, READ THESE ELECTION RESOURCES

There are many issues on the minds of Catholic voters in this election. On November 4, Election Day in the Commonwealth, we have important political choices to make.

The Pennsylvania Catholic Conference invited both candidates for Pennsylvania governor to share their views. Incumbent Governor Tom Corbett (Republican) sat down for an in-person interview and completed a written questionnaire. Democratic candidate Tom Wolf declined the PCC’s interview invitation and did not respond to the candidate questionnaire. Therefore, we’ve compiled information about his views from his campaign website and public statements.

The dioceses of Pennsylvania also surveyed local candidates. Click here to learn more about your local candidates.

Endorsements are another way to learn about candidates. Click here to read about some of the endorsements the candidates have garnered.

Voting is a crucial part of representing our Catholic faith in the public square.  Before you head to the polls on Tuesday, November 4, learn about the candidates and their positions on important issues.

St. Thomas More, patron saint of politicians, pray for us!

INSTALLATION OF MONSIGNOR MICHAEL MCCORMAC

Last Sunday, on October 12, 2014, our Parish celebrated the Installation of Monsignor Michael McCormac as pastor of our new Saint Frances Cabrini Parish Community.  With 550 people present for our 11:00 AM liturgy, and with the liturgical ministers gathered at the main doors of the church, Bishop Michael J. Fitzgerald, our Regional Bishop, handed over the keys of the church to Monsignor McCormac.  Following his homily, Bishop Fitzgerald presided over the Installation Ceremony.  In his remarks at Post Communion, in addition to thanking everyone, Monsignor McCormac especially acknowledged and thanked the music ministry for greatly enhancing the liturgy. Following Mass, many parishioners, family members and friends gathered in the Monsignor Woods Hall for refreshments giving all an opportunity to meet and celebrate God’s blessings to our new Parish.

A thank you goes out to all who participated and all those who helped in any way in making this such a fine celebration for our new Parish Community!

With special thanks to our parishioner, Tina Patitucci, we are pleased to provide the following pictures.
