Tax-Saving Education Program Expanded to Help an Additional 3,000 Families
Good news from Harrisburg! State lawmakers have approved an expansion of a successful education program that is expected to help more than 3,000 additional families find the best education for their children, while saving taxpayers money.
Each year, the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program helps over 40,000 families with scholarship assistance that permits parents to send their children to the school that best meets their needs.
The PA General Assembly, as part of the state budget package, passed a $10 million expansion of the successfully-proven EITC program (8% increase), which is estimated to serve 3,200 additional families. Governor Wolf recently announced he will allow this expansion to become law (without his signature).
Pennsylvania Family Institute is one of the 196 approved organizations that distribute scholarships through the EITC program, providing 4,000 scholarships to Pennsylvania families. And every year we hear from parents their appreciation for this program and how their child’s education would not be possible without the financial scholarship. It’s a great program and great to see it will help more families in Pennsylvania.
Thanks for your partnership with us in our scholarship program and in advocating for school choice options in Pennsylvania.
And remember – it’s Election Day tomorrow (Tuesday, November 7th). We have our Voter’s Guide up for you to read through and share with friends and family: PaFamilyVoter.com.
