ASH WEDNESDAY

The holy season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17. Masses will be celebrated at 9:30 AM and 7:00 PM. Ashes will be distributed during Mass. We will be livestreaming our 7:00 PM Mass for those unable to attend for health reasons. Thank you.

PREP Classes Cancelled Monday February 15

Due to the unpredictability of the timing for the severe winter weather forecast for tonight, and out of an abundance of caution for everyone involved in our PREP, Monday evening PREP classes for February 15 have been cancelled.

Parents of students in Levels 1 through 6 on Monday evenings are most welcome, indeed encouraged, to bring their children to PREP tomorrow evening, Tuesday, February 16.

The Kindergarten class will NOT meet this week. The Kids of God Group will meet online on Tuesday evening.

BEWARE OF ICE!

IMPORTANT! Lots of icy roads and walkways this morning! FOR YOUR SAFETY, PLEASE CONSIDER STAYING HOME AND JOINING US VIA OUR LIVESTREAMED MASS AT 11:00. You can access the livestream through our Facebook page or the Parish website.
If you do decide to physically join us Mass, please be careful. The safety of our parishioners is a priority for us. We have new cement walkways this year and, for the first season, we are unable to put ice melt on the walkways without damaging the uncured cement. Therefore, we are using sand. However, the ice is so severe this morning that we blocked off several walkways to the church. We ask your cooperation in using only those walkways which are open. Do not use walkways blocked by cones. Thank you for your cooperation.

“Father Augustus Tolton and the Black Catholic Experience in America,”

All are invited to virtually participate in a Zoom event entitled, “Father Augustus Tolton and the Black Catholic Experience in America.” This event will feature Reverend Stephen D. Thorne, Pastor of Saint Martin de Porres Parish. Father Thorne will share his reflections on the life of Father Augustus Tolton, the first African-American priest to be ordained in the United States, whose cause for canonization is under way. In sharing Tolton’s story, Father Thorne will also speak about the past and present experience of Black Catholicism in the United States and where he sees new opportunities for growth and renewal in the Church today.

The event is co-sponsored by the Collegium Institute for Catholic Thought & Culture. For more information or to register for the event, please visit  eventbrite.com/e/fathe….

All Masses will be celebrated tomorrow morning, Sunday, February 7. HOWEVER, due to the impending storm, please do not put yourself at risk by attempting to come to church during the inclement weather. Please join us for our livestreamed Mass at 11:00 AM. POT OF GOLD UPDATE 1/2/21

Due to the extreme weather, and a delay in having snow cleared from the church campus, we are once again postponing the February 1st Pot of Gold Lottery drawing. The drawing will now be held on Wednesday evening, February 3, at 7:00 PM.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are dropping tickets off today or tomorrow, YOU MUST MARK THE ENVELOPE WITH THE DRAWING DATE FOR YOUR TICKETS, EITHER FEBRUARY 1 OR FEBRUARY 7. We must avoid confusion with tickets being dropped off for both the February 1st drawing and the February 7th drawing. Any tickets not specifically marked with the date of February 7 will be included in the February 1st drawing. THANK YOU!

Watch for Updates on Pot of Gold Drawing

Currently, the Pot of Gold drawing is still scheduled to be held tonight.

As of right now, the drawing is still scheduled to be held at 7PM this evening. Please watch our website and Facebook page for any updates. Our primary concern is for the safety of the volunteers and those who need to drop off tickets. We will continue to monitor the situation and post updates as appropriate.
