Daily Adoration at St. Frances Cabrini Parish

Saint Frances Cabrini Parish is blessed to now have daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in our St. Joseph Chapel which is located in our newly-renovated Parish Center.  The Chapel is open to everyone throughout the day. Our Chapel provides a wonderful setting for prayer before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

Archbishop Chaput’s Op-Ed in The Philadelphia Inquirer: Religious Freedom, First Among Our Liberties, Is Under Threat

Recently, The Philadelphia Inquirer invited Archbishop Chaput to take part in a series it is publishing this month to mark the 225th anniversary of the Bill of Rights. This series will explore each of those original amendments and the threats they face today.

The Archbishop’s piece on the First Amendment, which guarantees our religious freedom, is the first installment and was published online on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It will also appear in the print edition of this Sunday’s paper.

ADVENT PARISH RETREAT

A huge thank you to Father Michael Sullivan,  an Augustinian Friar, and all who participated in the Parish Retreat which took place over the past 4 days.

On Sunday evening, emphasizing the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, Father Sullivan invoked the Holy Spirit upon our parishioners and reminded them what it means to be “Born Again.”   On Monday evening, Father Sullivan spoke about the healing power of forgiveness and led the congregation in meditation with a “healing of memories” prayer. This night concluded with all participants having the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Tuesday evening focused on the vocations of married life, single and priesthood and religious life, highlighting our call to be Church, saints and sinners together.  On Wednesday night, Father Sullivan encouraged everyone to reinstate the custom of dinning together with their family, in so doing, giving more meaning to the Eucharist we share at Mass each week.  We concluded the evening with Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction.  Following Wednesday’s gathering, many enjoyed refreshments in the Monsignor Woods Hall.

Again, we wish to thank Father Sullivan for his presence among us, for his sharing each night and we also thank all those who participated and all who made the Parish Retreat possible at Saint Frances Cabrini.
