NEW DIRECTOR OF PARISH SERVICES

We are very pleased to announce that Mrs. Margaret (Peg) Green will soon be joining our Pastoral Ministry as Director of Parish Services. During this past year, Peg has been serving as Assistant to the Principal at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School, and she comes to us with much pastoral and educational experience. Peg holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education and Music from Immaculata, and a Master of Arts Degree in Moral and Pastoral Theology from St. Charles Seminary.  As Peg indicated to us, she has been dedicated to Catholic education and formation in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for most of her adult years, and she has served in various capacities at both the school and parish levels. Having served as a Catholic elementary teacher for many years and as a Catholic elementary school principal for three years, Peg is well suited to serve as our Parish Director of Religious Education for our children who attend public school. Also, having developed and provided sacramental preparation programs for many parishes, Peg is well qualified to assist our parents as they prepare their children for receiving the sacraments.

In addition to serving as our DRE, Peg will be overseeing our Adult Faith Formation Programs and also providing pastoral leadership in the areas of our Respect Life Committee, Bereavement Group, Bible Study and Young Mothers’ Group and adding her presence wisdom and insights to our Youth Group.

Although she has already been working with our rectory staff and quietly working behind the scenes, Mrs. Green will officially begin her ministry on Monday, August 19th. She will maintain an office in the rectory and, during the PREP sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Peg will have an office in the Father Laut School Building.

Peg and her husband, Rich, are active members of St. Ephrem Parish in Bensalem. Please join us in welcoming Peg to our Parish Community and remember Peg in your prayers as she transitions from one part of the Lord’s vineyard to another part of that same vineyard!

2013-2014 PREP REGISTRATION OPENS

Registration is now open for the 2013-2014 Parish Religious Education Program and will continue through Friday, September 13th.  The on-line Registration Form can be found through the Parish website at www.saintfrancescabrini.net.   Families will have the option to register to attend PREP on either the Monday or Tuesday evening sessions.  However, space is limited and will be assigned on a first come basis.

The on-line registration form will also direct you to payment information.  A new option this year is the ability to pay your Program fees by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through our Parish Giving Program.  Parish Giving is a safe and secure way to allow your payment to be automatically debited from your checking account or credit card.   As you may know, this is the same Program being used by many of our parishioners for their weekly offertory donations to the Parish and we are now accepting payment for the PREP through the same process.   One Parish Giving registration gives you access to both!

PREP sessions begin on Monday, September 16 and Tuesday, September 17.   No registrations will be accepted on opening nights.  Parents are asked to attend this first evening session to meet Mrs. Peg Green, our new Director of Religious Education, and to receive important information about the PREP year.

See our Parish website for more information or call the Rectory office at 215-946-4040.
