On the Feast of Pentecost, Archbishop Pérez he introduced a new Archdiocesan initiative, Nothing Compares to Being There. The COVID-19 pandemic brought many changes to our lives, to our routines, and even to our Sunday worship. For a period of time we were not able to be personally present for the celebration of Sunday Mass at all. For the last several months, many have been a part of Sunday Mass through live streaming. Now, as the pandemic wanes and restrictions are lifting, I invite all the faithful of the Archdiocese to make their way back to the in person celebration of the Mass. As helpful as livestreaming was during the difficult months of the pandemic, when it comes to the Mass, nothing compares to being there. Wearing of masks is now optional
In light of the most recent CDC Guidelines issued on May 13th regarding face coverings and masks, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s adoption of these Guidelines, here at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, the wearing of masks is now optional for those who are vaccinated.
We will continue with all our other protocols that have been in place for the past year, including the manner in which we have been distributing Holy Communion. On Wednesday, May 19th, the Archdiocese will be providing pastors with additional information regarding the implementation of the new CDC Guidelines. We thank everyone for their understanding and their cooperation.

Archbishop Pérez Featured in USCCB Webinar Series
Co-Workers: Bishops and Lay Ecclesial Ministers in Conversation
In an effort to affirm and exemplify the contributions of lay ecclesial ministers in the Catholic Church, the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops launched a series of webinars and testimonial videos entitled “Co-Workers: Bishops and Lay Ecclesial Ministers in Conversation.” This series was developed in partnership with the USCCB’s Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life, and Youth (LMFLY) and the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame. The platform gives lay ecclesial ministers the opportunity to discuss the challenges and triumphs of their ministry.
Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will be featured on a segment with Matthew Davis, Director of the Office for Young Adults, and Marisally Santiago, Director of the Office for Youth. Their segment will be available on the USCCB website on May 17, 2021: https://www.usccb.org/
