Faithful Citizenship Resources for the 2024 Election
On November 5, 2024, general elections will take place with various local, state, and federal offices on the ballot. Certainly, there is an increased focus on faithful citizenship given that this year features a presidential election.
In order to assist Catholics as they prepare to vote with formed consciences, the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia have produced documents and online resources intended to educate the faithful about the candidates and their positions on issues of importance to Catholic voters.

ARCHBISHOP PÉREZ LETTER TO THE JEWISH COMMUNITY FOR ROSH HASHANAH AND YOM KIPPUR
LETTER FROM ARCHBISHOP NELSON J. PÉREZ
TO THE JEWISH COMMUNITY AS IT OBSERVES
ROSH HASHANAH AND YOM KIPPUR
Dear Friends in the Jewish Faith Community,
I write to extend warm greetings and prayerful best wishes as you prepare to celebrate the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in the coming weeks.
I am especially mindful of the tragic anniversary of the attacks by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and the ongoing conflict, including many hostages still being held.
These days of the new year present solemn opportunities for prayer and reflection on the past while looking to the future with joyful hope. Hope and joy are something we can all use, especially when so many are suffering around the globe due to war, famine, natural disasters, and political strife. I join with you and many throughout the world praying for a just and lasting peace in the Holy Land.
On behalf of the Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, I pledge spiritual closeness and a remembrance in my prayers for you at this time. May the Almighty bless you abundantly with peace, good health, and fulfillment.
Shanah Tovah!
Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D.
Archbishop of Philadelphi
