Interfaith Service and Advocacy to End Gun Violence 6/9 at 2PM

All people of goodwill are invited to participate in the From Sanctuary to Street, From Lament to Action, a prayerful interfaith gathering that will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, tomorrow (June 9th) at 2:00 p.m.

Most Reverend Edward M. Deliman, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia (ret.), will serve as the principal convener. He will be joined by faith leaders from the Episcopal Diocese of Philadelphia, Quba Masjid, and the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia.

This prayerful initiative seeks to honor the memory of victims of gun violence and work to end the sin of gun violence. The event will include a city-wide interfaith prayer service, Memorial to the Lost Tee-shirt display, Witness Walk, and a moment of remembrance at a gun violence site.

This ecumenical gathering will be streamed live via the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Facebook page (facebook.com/ArchPhila…). It is being sponsored by the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia, Heeding God’s Call, and local faith institutions.
