9:30 MASS WILL NOT BE CELEBRATED TODAY

Due to the snowstorm, and for the safety of our parishioners and visitors, there will be no 9:30 AM Mass today, Thursday, 2/18.

ASH WEDNESDAY

The holy season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17. Masses will be celebrated at 9:30 AM and 7:00 PM. Ashes will be distributed during Mass. We will be livestreaming our 7:00 PM Mass for those unable to attend for health reasons. Thank you.

BEWARE OF ICE!

IMPORTANT! Lots of icy roads and walkways this morning! FOR YOUR SAFETY, PLEASE CONSIDER STAYING HOME AND JOINING US VIA OUR LIVESTREAMED MASS AT 11:00. You can access the livestream through our Facebook page or the Parish website.
If you do decide to physically join us Mass, please be careful. The safety of our parishioners is a priority for us. We have new cement walkways this year and, for the first season, we are unable to put ice melt on the walkways without damaging the uncured cement. Therefore, we are using sand. However, the ice is so severe this morning that we blocked off several walkways to the church. We ask your cooperation in using only those walkways which are open. Do not use walkways blocked by cones. Thank you for your cooperation.

LIVESTREAM AVAILABLE DURING THE IMPENDING SUNDAY STORM

All Masses will be celebrated tomorrow morning, Sunday, February 7. HOWEVER, due to the impending storm, please do not put yourself at risk by attempting to come to church during the inclement weather. Please join us for our livestreamed Mass at 11:00 AM. The livestream can be viewed on our Facebook page at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Community or through the Parish website at www.SaintFrancesCabrini.net. Stay safe!

POT OF GOLD UPDATE 1/2/21

Due to the extreme weather, and a delay in having snow cleared from the church campus, we are once again postponing the February 1st Pot of Gold Lottery drawing. The drawing will now be held on Wednesday evening, February 3, at 7:00 PM.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are dropping tickets off today or tomorrow, YOU MUST MARK THE ENVELOPE WITH THE DRAWING DATE FOR YOUR TICKETS, EITHER FEBRUARY 1 OR FEBRUARY 7. We must avoid confusion with tickets being dropped off for both the February 1st drawing and the February 7th drawing. Any tickets not specifically marked with the date of February 7 will be included in the February 1st drawing. THANK YOU!

FEBRUARY 1 POT OF GOLD DRAWING POSTPONED

Due to the anticipated snow storm, and for the safety of our volunteers, the Pot of Gold Lottery drawing scheduled for Monday evening, February 1, 2021, will be postponed until Tuesday evening, February 2, 2021, at 7:00 PM. Tickets for 2/1/21 drawing can be dropped off at the rectory until 6:45 PM on Tuesday. IF DROPPING TICKETS ON TUESDAY, PLEASE PUT TICKETS IN AN ENVELOPE AND WRITE THE DRAWING DATE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE. Any tickets without a date will be included in the 2/1/21 drawing, so if dropping tickets for the February 8th drawing, you must indicate that on your envelope. Pot of Gold volunteers are asked to come to the gym at the regular time on Tuesday evening, if they are available. Thank you very much for your continued support and your cooperation!

LIVE STREAM TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

We regret to announce that we are having technical difficulties and will be unable to livestream the 11:00 Mass this morning. We are able to record the Mass and the recording will be available at 12:30 today. We sincerely apologize to all of our parishioners who visit us for this livestreaming each week. Thank you for your understanding.

Bishop John McIntyre will be celebrant for Holy Hour

Bishop John McIntyre will be the celebrant for a Holy Hour at St. Frances Cabrini Church on Thursday evening, August 6, at 7:30 PM to pray for vocations to the priesthood. Bishop McIntyre will be joined by Bishop Michael Fitzgerald and seminarians from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. ALL ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. Let us fill the church in support of these young men currently in formation, and to pray that other men might heed God’s call to serve His people.

For those who are unable to attend, we will be live streaming the Holy Hour. You can access the live stream through the Parish website or Facebook page.

Action Needed for “School Choice Now Act”

A message from the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference:

Thank you for all your continued support of Catholic education! We need one more big push from all our Catholic education stakeholders to be successful.

Contact your members of Congress and ask them to support the new “School Choice Now Act” and include all Catholic school students and teachers in the emergency relief package currently being negotiated.

Here is more from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops:

COVID-19 has contributed to the permanent closure of 138 Catholic schools across 23 states.  Additionally, internal surveys show ten percent of Catholic schools are now uncertain if they can open their doors this fall. That means as many as 500 or more Catholic schools could be in jeopardy.

As the Senate prepares its next aid bill, we ask that the next COVID relief package include immediate assistance to families through federally-funded scholarships.

The Alexander-Scott “School Choice Now Act” provides one-time, emergency funding for scholarship-granting organizations in each state; and provides permanent dollar-for-dollar
federal tax credits for contributions to scholarship granting organizations.

Please contact your U.S. Representative and Senators today to request support of the Alexander-Scott “School Choice Now Act” in the base bill.
