2012 Hayride at Snipes, Breakfast with Santa, and Living Nativity in Fallsington:

Purpose of the St. Frances Cabrini Youth Group:

The purpose of the Youth Group is to build up the kingdom of God by inspiring in the young men and women of the SFC community a life-long relationship with  Jesus Christ.

Who:
 4th through 8th grade parishioners

What are some of the activities and projects the SFC Youth Group has done?

  • A clothing drive for Trenton mission was held.
  • Family swim night was held at Penn Fair Pool in Morrisville.
  • Christmas cards were made for the United States troops serving in other countries.
  • A Christmas party was held, and the students made human Christmas trees.
  • Valentines cards were created for residents at a local nursing home.
  • A cool pizza party was held after attending Stations of the Cross together during Lent.
  • Residents at Statesman Nursing Home were visited by Youth Group as the group played music, sang, put on a puppet show, and played a lot of board games with the residents.
  • The church grounds were cleaned in preparation for our parish May Procession.
  • A picnic was held in June where the group played kickball against the mothers, fathers, and Monsignor McCormac.  The parents and Monsignor beat the students!  The parents want a re-match!
  • A movie night was held last July as the group watched “Facing the Giants.”  It was a great movie about not being afraid to face  fears and taught great lessons about respecting parents, teachers, and coaches.  The movie also showed that nothing is impossible with God.  Plenty of cold drinks, candy, and snacks were provided in the air conditioned SFC gym.
  • A fun-filled car wash was held in the summer.  Many parishoners came out to support this very successful event!
  • A “birthday party” was held for the Blessed Mother where students sang and ate cake, while creating rosaries to donate to the Respect Life Committee.
  • Cards and pins were created to be sent to the military overseas while the group at pizza.  Games were played afterwards.
  • A hayride and bonfire was held at Snipes Farm in the fall.
  • The Youth Group students and their families visited the Living Nativity at Fallsington United Methodist Church. Each student donated a dozen cookies to contribute to the festivities in the basement of the church & “acted” in the scene with the animals.
