Readers

Readers assist in the celebration of the Mass by proclaiming God’s Word.   Readers also read Parish announcements prior to the beginning of Mass and in the absence of a deacon, will carry the Book of the Gospels to the altar in procession with the other liturgical ministers and will also offer the petitions of the Prayer of the Faithful. The Parish is always in need of individuals who possess a love for God’s Word and the gifts needed to proclaim the scriptures effectively.   Parishioners are welcome to consider this important ministry to the worshipping community and to make their interest known to a member of the pastoral staff. Individual training is provided for new Readers.  Readers are incorporated in the Lay Ministry Schedule according to preferences provided.
